Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh believes in learning, performing and reforming. He is a strong believer of transformation through education and that is why he has been remained in continuous touch with education and academics even after joining the Indian Police. His attitude of continuous learning has added core capabilities and competencies which reflect from his performance.
The officer is a regular visitor of Schools, Colleges, Universities and other educational institutions where he delivers motivational lectures to the students to inspire them in character building and nation building. At the same time, he always advocates for reforms in educational system of India. He works hard in formulating policies and plans with help of academicians and professionals to replace British Model of degree oriented education with indigenous excellence oriented education with a view to produce motivated torch-bearers to serve the people and serve the nation.
The officer earned Ph.D. in Police Administration from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar in 2006-2010. He wrote his doctoral thesis on “Human Rights of Prisoners”. After that he completed professional Law Degree ‘LL.B.’ from Panjab Univesrity Chandigarh during 2010-13 with distinction with specialisation in Criminal and Constitutional Law. In the area of emerging laws, he took Cyber Law and RTI (Right to Information) as special subjects and also penned down text books on both these subjects while pursuing LLB. He has been a special invitee of Legal Education Committee of Bar Council of India.
The officer also holds Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM) which he completed in 2006 from Ludhiana Centre of IGNOU.
Prior to joining the Police Service, he did Intermediate of Science from Patna Science College. He graduated in Statistics, Sanskrit and Ancient History & Archaeology and did Post Graduation in Sanskrit Literature with specialisation in Indian Philosophy from Patna University.
He has also done ICWA (Inter) from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India and Certificate Course in Cyber Crime Investigation from Asian School of Cyber Laws, Pune. He has also earned Certificate Course in Yoga from Patna University.
With this background, the officer is playing a pioneering role in nation building through education.
